Finding Happiness in the Ordinary

Just because you're not in the perfect place does not mean you're not in the middle of the perfect plan.

I love winter- but I am NOT ready for snow yet. I want to continue to live in my beautiful little world of fall colors. I want to enjoy the warm autumn sun a little longer. It snowed a few inches here in Nebraska and while it was fun to watch my son play out in the snow, I am not enjoying the cold and the snow. But I am going to enjoy today.

A little over a year ago, I decided to pick up my camera and get back into photography. I decided to get back into learning more about my passion and my talent and to focus on my happy place. My current place may not be where I'd like to be and I may not know where my journey will end up- but I'm perfectly content on where I am today. It's taken me almost 10 years to get here- a few bumps and breaks along the way, but 10 years to find my voice, find my confidence and to learn to enjoy the ride.

Following your dream is both exciting and terrifying- full of sacrifice and rewards. It means spending time away from your family while following your heart. Its sacrificing opportunities, because life has thrown you a curve ball. It's enduring failures that makes those achievements so much sweeter. But it's so worth it.

It won't be easy and it won't happen overnight, but trust your goals and trust your plans. You can make it all possible, as long as you focus and believe in yourself.
