- Fleeting Moments
Let it go..
Much to my husbands displeasure, my kiddos have been watching a very serious amount of Frozen. To the point that I could probably perform most of it to them myself. I promise that I won't be discussing the lyrics of that today! But I do have a reason for starting out this way. My son asked me why Elsa says "let it go", I told him that she was pretending to be someone she wasn't so now she wants to be herself. My very wise 4 year old replies, "well that'd make me crazy too."
Today I read a quote that said, "the trees are about to show us how lovely it is to let things go." When your feelings are hurt, when someone does you wrong, when things go backwards, its understandable to be upset- and you should allow yourself to feel that- it's when you let those feelings consume you that you'll find a problem. It is more important to wipe away the tears, be grateful for the memories and to turn yourself into a better person. Maybe you have to leave behind something great- whether its a person, place, or thing and all you can feel is heartache. Remind yourself that God may have a reason. Those closed doors might've caught a finger as they slammed shut, but the beauty behind a new door might be worth the pain.
Find peace with who you are, how far you've come, and all the goodbyes and trials you've faced along the way. Allow yourself to feel the hurt, but let it go, because you never know what kind of beauty is coming your way.
