WISHING FOR WARMTH

When I left my house this morning, my jeep showed -22 degrees today. Mother nature is definitely feeling frigid this week and I think everyone can relate to dreaming of nice weather due to the amount of snow, ice, and bitter temperatures we've endured the last few weeks. This time of year seems to move slowly as we lull between Valentines and Easter, a time of celebrating love and togetherness and a time of celebrating new life. I think the last 12 months have resulted in a little bit of Cabin Fever for everyone. We are ready for the cold and lonely winter to change into the vibrant spring and summer easiness.

A french philosopher, Albert Camus, has a quote that can provide a little motivation for us all right now:

"My dear,

In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.

In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.

I realized, through it all, that....

In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.

And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there's something stronger- something better, pushing right back."

"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer."

Do you need a little fire to get you through the bitter winter? Or do you need a little motivation to get out of a rut you've buried in yourself? As cold as it is, as uncertain as it is, we need to reach down inside of ourselves and find that warmth. The warmth of love and joy, kindness and motivation. The kind of warmth that gets us through those bleak moments that we search for a little hope. Whatever is troubling your hearts and mind, remember that not only is hope around the corner, it's within us; much like spring is soon to come and warmth to melt the ice.
